Battle for Azeroth

Battle for Azeroth mounts, listed by source

Below are all the mounts coming in Battle for Azeroth - including those that have already arrived in the pre-expansion patch - listed by their source.

If you're interested in all the new mount models, including unused colours and models that haven't been used for mounts yet, visit our BfA Mount Models page.

Black Market Auction House

These mounts require no reputation or tricks to obtain - just an enormous bank account! The Mighty Caravan Brutosaur costs 5 million gold, but comes with a vendor and an auctioneer. The Palehide Direhorn costs 500 000 gold and has no special features, other than looking handsome. These mounts are available to Horde and Alliance players from vendors in Zuldazar and Tiragarde Sound.

Expansion Features - Island Expeditions

Island Expeditions are a new type of timed scenario introduced in Battle for Azeroth in which you compete against the opposing faction to gather resources. After completing the scenario there's a chance to loot special reward items - including a rare chance of mounts. There's a PvP and non-PvP mode for these scenarios, but we're currently unsure whether both offer mount rewards. If it turns out to be just PvP, we'll reclassify these mounts as PvP only. For detailed information, see Wowhead's Island Expeditions Guide.

Loot - Dungeon Boss Drops

A variety of interesting mounts drop from bosses in BfA dungeons, including a mummified raptor, an angry pollywog and a pirate parrot. So far these have only been found in Mythic difficulty, or as a reward in Challenge Modes. It's too early to be sure of their drop rates.

Player vs Player - Arena

Player vs Player - Vicious Mounts - Rated PvP

The method of obtaining Vicious mounts has changed in Battle for Azeroth and Vicious mounts cannot (currently) be purchased with a Vicious Saddle. Instead, players must first reach the PvP rank of 'Combatant' during the relevant Season by reaching a rating of 1400 from competing in 2v2, 3v3, or 10v10 arenas and battlegrounds. They must then win a further 100 rated PvP matches during the season to receive the mount. Blizzard have announced that the mount will be purchasable by the traditional method (a Vicious Saddle) some time after the Season ends. There will be a new method of obtaining Vicious Saddles, which has not yet been revealed.

Professions / Crafted - Engineering

So far one new Engineer-crafted mount has been added - a sinister, goblin-headed copter. The mount doesn't require Engineering to use, and the item that teaches it is not bound, so it may be gifted or auctioned. The schematic that teaches it drops from Mogul Razdunk, the final boss in the dungeon 'The MOTHERLODE!!'. We aren't yet sure if it drops only in Mythic difficulty, but early reports have been from Mythic.
