About Warcraft Mounts

Warcraft Mounts launched in February, 2008. It was designed by an orc undead hunter named Mania.

Day-to-day running of the site has now been handed over to two Aussies, Wain and SpiritBinder. Mania is still very much involved, especially with site hosting, the database, and dispensing invaluable coding wisdom to us newbies.

The independent WoW website community is an amazing and supportive community. Special thanks are due to:

• All our mount images are created using WoW Model Viewer. Without it we wouldn't have much of a site and we're very grateful to its developers for all their fantastic work.
• Brash Endeavors, who got Mania started with WoW websites when she entrusted her with the maintenance of Petopia, the hunter pet database.
• El of El's Extreme Anglin, now sadly retired, was the most excellent and informative WoW fishing site in existence.
• And most especially Breanni of WarcraftPets. WarcraftPets had a huge positive influence on the inception of Warcraft Mounts, including everything from approachable web design to the most essential features.

Advertising

We use advertising on Warcraft Mounts to help offset the time and resources we spend on the site. We do sometimes accept individual advertisements, but most of the ads here are context-sensitive Google Adsense ads.

We do not knowingly accept advertising for goods or services that contravene the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We don't always have perfect control over the ads, however -- especially Google Adsense ads. So if you see something that doesn't look legit, please drop us an e-mail.

Technology

Warcraft Mounts is primarily custom software, built with PHP and MySQL and using bits of the Zend Framework. The mount images are generated from World of Warcraft game data via WoW Model Viewer.

As it happens, Mania's day job involves building web pages like this one. Please feel free to contact her about any web development needs you may have.

Privacy Policy

Warcraft Mounts collects aggregate browsing data from visitors, including the time and pages you visit, via Google Analytics. In addition, we log the IP addresses of registered users for security purposes.

Creating an account here to track your mount collection requires a valid e-mail address. Your e-mail address is kept strictly confidential and will not be shared or sold to third parties (except as may be required by law). Your e-mail address may rarely be used to contact you individually, but we will not spam you.
