Basic Mounts - Alliance
A basic mount is one that you can buy from a mount vendor for gold without any special fuss. The vendor is usually right next to the trainer where you train your Riding skill.
Most basic mounts are associated with a particular race -- so sometimes these are called racial mounts. In order to buy a basic mount, you usually have to either be a member of that race, or have an Exalted reputation with that race. The exceptions are the armored mounts sold by Mei Francis in Dalaran.
Your reputation with the mount vendor's faction can also reduce the cost of the mount.
